What Stardom Does
Over the last 6 months, we’ve lost a number of stars to harsh conditions. From Michael Jackson to Solange Magnano, and now Brittany Murphy, we have to wonder what’s happening in Hollywood.
Michael and Brittany stand out at this point; because of Brittany’s recent death and the similar way they passed. As we all know, MJ dealt with prescription drug issues, and was given an IV cocktail under shady supervision. He went into cardiac arrest and succumbed shortly after. Brittany died after a cardiac arrest as well, and had prescription drugs found in her bathroom upon investigation.
Many are straight B.A.F.F.L.E.D., as we are here, about the sad demise of so many stars as a result of prescription drugs. It appears the shine of being a star is so much more than we see it to be. Michael Jackson performed tirelessly since the age of 5 and dealt with ridicule for most of his life. Brittany also dealt with issues, as she incurred weight/body image problems for most of her years on the scene.
Despite the amazing talent and the millions who love them, we tend to lose stars because of the instabilities they face within themselves. Michael and Brittany are far from the first, but is there any way to make them near the last? Do we invest and require too much in superstars? Why? They’re people like you and I....right?
