NBA All-Star Weekend - Recap

Didn't you just love watching the events of All-Star Weekend?!  From the NBA players, to Hollywood celebs, the weekend was filled with parties, special events, Legends Lunches, and more.

Los Angeles was taken by storm for the 1st time in 7 years, with the 60th Annual All-Star Game.  Teen favorite, Justin Bieber took home MVP of the celebrity game on Friday night.  NBA on TNT Analyst, Charles Barkley celebrated his birthday on the night of the big game, and many others spent the weekend in grand fashion.  Speaking of fashion, slam dunk great Darryl Dawkins gave us quite a show with his cheetah-print suit on Saturday, and TNT reporter Craig Sager did not disappoint, wearing a purple suit on Sunday evening.

Of course being from Chicago, we were behind everything Derrick Rose did all weekend!  He did well in the Skills Challenge, and amazed us in the big game on Sunday.  Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors took the Skills Challenge trophy, and James Jones of the Heat claimed the 3-point title.  We were also amazed by the fan-favorite Slam Dunk contest.  Although LA Clippers rookie Blake Griffin won, Serge Ibaka took off from behind the free throw line, and runner-up Javale McGee gave us an amazing 2-rim dunk.  It was like nothing we've ever seen.

Talk of where Denver Nugget Carmelo Anthony will land continued through the weekend, but he assured Sager, he was just trying to have fun and enjoy the festivities.  Surely things will heat up a bit this week, with the trade deadline looming.

The Western Conference All-Stars won the big game with a score of  148-143, and Kobe Bryant took the MVP trophy.  It was his 4th All-Star MVP award, tying legend Bob Pettit for the most in All-Star history.

Needless to say the weekend was packed with fun, fab, and fashion.  Can't wait 'til next year in Orlando!
