Must-Dine Spots!

It's been a while since our last BLC feature.  There's always some new eateries popping up in this great city and we have every responsibility to keep you posted on where to go for good dishes.
Check out these tasty places.  You won't regret it.

Little Goat
The West Loop is booming with new places to eat.  Little Goat, the little sister restaurant of Girl and the Goat has great bunch, and unique dinner dishes to try.  Stroll down Randolph St. and be sure to have a pastry from the bakery!

Sophie's at Saks Fifth Avenue
A Michigan Avenue gem, you can sit by the window on the 7th floor, dine, have a drink, and look at the shoppers below.  This spot is very new, and still a bit of a best kept secret.  Their crab cakes are tasty, the steak is perfectly cooked, and the desserts are all good--especially the ice cream sandwich on brioche.  At the bar, you'll sip on any drink you can think of, and even grab fancy sliders if you're hungry.  Get there soon...before the secret gets out!

For a twist on Mexican dishes, you have to get into Mexique.  The food is brought to you by Chef Carlos Gaytan of Bravo's Top Chef fame and was a star restaurant during Chicago's Restaurant Week.  Everything from the seafood appetizers to the sweet desserts is fresh on this menu.  The tapas-style plates help you leave satisfied, but not uncomfortably stuffed.

Grange Hall Burger Bar
When you need a good burger, you have to go here.  Whether you want turkey or grass-fed beef, you're getting a healthy burger with all the toppings you want.  They also have homemade ice cream.  The seasonal favorites are yummy, and their regular flavors are good go-tos.

Pork Chop
Another West Loop spot, this one is great for the BBQ fan.  The ribs are juicy, the sauce is however you like it--they have tangy, sweet, and traditional options. The chicken and waffles is enough to take some home, and the fried pickles are a great starter.  They also have chick and seafood options, for the days you're not feeling pork.  If you're a fan of swine--or not, put this on your calendar and come starving!

Home Bistro
This quaint spot has lots of character.  It sits nestled away in the Lakeview neighborhood and holds its own in an area with so many options.  The fish is fresh, and the red meat options are always complemented with healthy greens.  Their dessert menu changes regularly, but disappointment is never an option

Nouveau Tavern
The bottomless mimosas on Sundays is a major draw.  But, the Southern-style food is comparable to the sweetness on top of their biscuits.  The menu was created by Chef Norman Hargrove, formerly of the Peninsula Hotel, Chicago.  He offers dishes to share, like crabcake fritters and glazed wings, but also plates to keep to yourself--crawfish cake benedict, french toast, sweet potatoes, and more.

These are just a few of the places we'll be highlighting for you to try.   Stay tuned for more ways to keep your tastbuds happy.
