When the Store Folds, Relocate to the Internet!

With a struggling economy over the last few years, a number of companies have been forced to file for bankruptcy, or close their doors entirely. As things attempt to take a turn for the better, so have many compromised businesses.
Companies like Linens n' Things, Sharper Image, Circuit City were highly impacted by the slumped housing market, but have recently found new life on the internet. With new ownership, these popular brands now have a second chance in the market.
Remember Wilson's Leather stores in almost every mall? Well now, with the exception of some outlet stores, the bulk of the brand's leather goods can be found at wilsonleathers.com. After being forced to sell shares and mall locations, the online sales were the saving grace of the brand.
Gourmet magazine, the country's most prevalent cooking periodical has even been reignited in the blogosphere. Changes are amid the hardships the magazine industry has seen in the wake of the world wide web and smart phones. Gourmet also has an iPad app (Gourmet Live) set for Fall 2010 release.
Oh what a difference 10 years and some tech-savvy minds can make!
