5 Legal Matters for the Summer--

It may not be officially Summer according to the calendar just yet, but the temperatures tell us otherwise.  Today we're giving you 5 quick legal matters to keep in mind as the days heat up.

1.  Keep the kiddies busy.
This may be a task since school is out, but it's worth it.  Make sure your children have something to do. Busy children are happy children-- and those children stay out of trouble.  Between swimming lessons (everyone should know how) festivals, and camps, there's plenty to keep your young ones occupied.  Remember, parents of delinquent minors get fined and punished, too.

2.  Enjoy Summer drinks...with caution.
Sounds like a no-brainer, but we wouldn't have DUI laws if it was.  Summer is a great time to have drinks to cool you off, but it's also high time for drinking and driving.  Just don't do it.  There'll be implications for your license (obviously), other criminal possible actions, your job and personal life.  Have a designated driver, catch a cab, or take public transportation.  It will save you stress later.

3.  Make sure your business is in order.
Summer is a great time to nurture ideas and create businesses.  It may also be the time your licenses or other credentials expire.  Check your books and make sure everything is up to date. Are you paying your taxes?  Did you renew your insurance?  Double check everything to be certain you can make the most of added Summer revenues.

4.  Study your Electeds.
It is an election year, so it's important to know about the candidates you will get to select this coming November.  You may always vote based on political party, and even if you do, know the candidates you may be making your elected officials are on the up-and-up.  They will be holding debates and Town Halls.  You should attend.  You want your voice to be heard at the polls in November and doing your homework over the Summer will help.

5.  Watch what you buy.
We strongly concur with the sentiments "Fakes Are Never In Fashion".  You might want to as well.  There have been a number of cases lately regarding counterfeit clothing and garments.  Don't be a part of this criminal market.  Buy from trustworthy stores and websites.  No need to endorse a fake when there's so much style at every price point.

We hope these tips were helpful.  Happy Summer!
