Top 8 Things Happening in August--
It's August and 2012 is moving quickly. Here's a list of great things happening this month:
1. Back to School
Whether you're in grammar school or graduate school, hitting the books is right around the corner. As the school year starts, it's also a great time to get healthy. August is National Immunization Awareness Month as well as National Cataract Awareness Month, so be sure your system and eyes are where they need to be.
2. Louis Vuitton continues their battle in trademark protection
After lawsuits against Hyundai and Warner Brothers for "Hangover 2", LV has had their hands full in court lately. They're appealing the court ruling ultimately allowing the moviemaker to keep scenes with fake bags in their film. We'll be watching this one for sure!
3. Louboutin keeps fighting their sole battle
After losing a case with Zara over red-soled shoes, and still working to protect their trademark shoe bottoms against other designers, Christian Louboutin is most certainly tired of court. However, those fire engine red bottoms are not only a major fashion statement, but also setting a new tone in trademark law--and of course blazing a trail in fashion law, too.
4. The Wood Star Fest

5. National Parks Month
It's summer, and although most of the country has been slammed with 90+ degree temperatures, we've still had some nice 80-degree days for getting outside and enjoying parks. Before we face whatever fall and winter may bring, enjoy the parks in your area.
6. Football season is preparing to return
Surely the Olympics are fun to watch, but August also means training camps are getting started and the NFL will be back in a matter of weeks. Can't wait!

Although we are supportive of all small businesses, here are a couple fitting the festivities for this month:
