You're invited to the 2nd annual... Rock the RED: Bold. Fashion. Awareness.  Rock the RED will be held on March 24, 2011, in commemoration of annual NWGHAAD. It'll also be a celebration of the 2nd anniversary of The Red Pump Project, showcasing the newest fashions by upcoming designers and boutiques from around the city. We will present Keyana Ray with this year’s Ultimate Red Pump Rocker award. In 2006, Keyana wrote “Reflections,” a movie about how three African-American girls handle the threat of HIV/AIDS. The film was produced by Gina Price-Blythewood (Love & Basketball), and has been screened across the country. Keyana is currently a film/video student at Columbia College Chicago and continues to shed light on the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and families. So join us for a fantastic evening where we bring together social justice and fashion to Rock the RED BOLDLY, FASHIONABLY while being AWARE of the impact of HIV/AIDS on our community. Red Pump Events Around the country for NWGHAAD Our ambassadors in Atlanta, Charlotte, and Dallas have planned some great events in support of NWGHAAD. You can find the details below:
Charlotte, NC On March 10, 2011, join Red Pump’s Charlotte ambassadors as they Paint the Night RED. This fundraiser event will take place at Vertical Tease (Tease Fitness Boutique). Come out and learn more about The Red Pump Project's work in Charlotte. The night will be filled with food, laughter, education, fun and a special tease pole party. Atlanta, GA On the evening of March 11, 2011, Red Pump Project Atlanta will host a wine tasting fundraiser, which will serve as Red Pump Atlanta's inaugural event. Atlanta ranks 8th among the nation’s metro areas in its ratio of HIV infections to overall population and Georgia ranks 2nd in the rate of HIV infections for teens ages 13-19. Dallas, TX The Red Pump Project’s Dallas ambassador presents: DIVA SWAP on March 13, 2011. Clothing swaps are fashionable, fun, and a charitable way to refresh your wardrobe. De-clutter that closet!
