Chicago Ideas Week!

CIW is an annual weeklong initiative (October 10 – 16) bringing together globally recognized visionaries to speak on a variety of critical issues, social topics and breakthrough concepts in order to foster connectivity for people in and around the Midwest. Speakers secured already include former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, Joan Cusack, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Tom Friedman, Andrew Mason and more.

Jumpstarting on October 10th, the Music Blogger’s Association of America (MBAA) is set to present a series of dynamic music industry-related roundtable discussions addressing new and old media outlets, the state of recorded music as well as its influence within urban communities. In addition, MBAA in partnership with other Chicago businesses and organizations will host labs, tours and socially driven mixers for the purpose of connecting and educating independent artists with entrepreneurs and ideas! Taking place at a multitude of venues, the Music Blogger’s Association of America is using the Windy City of Chicago as its classroom. Made possible through the organizations affiliate relationship as a Community Partner with Chicago Ideas Week (CIW), the MBAA headlining event will be hosted at the Chicago Urban Arts Society (2229 South Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60608) October 15th from 5pm to 9pm. The discussions will feature media personalities, bloggers and music industry notables, such as Kyra Kyles NABJ Chicago Chapter President, Todd Walton of MBAA and the Hip Hop Democrat and Grammy Award Winning, Hip Hop extraordinaire, Rhymefest. All events are free of charge; confirm attendance at http://MBAACIW.Eventbrite.com.
