Top 5 Highlights of March~
March may be almost 1/2 over, but there are some pretty important things happening during the month.
As you already know, March is "Music in Our Schools Month". Here's a few other things you should know about, too.
1. Women's History Month
Women's History Month was born out of International Women's Day in 1911. Since then, the recognition has flourished and the appreciation hasn't stopped. By 1987 Congress lengthened what had become a week long celebration, to the entire month of March. This ignited projects like the National Women's History Project and the later opening of the National Museum of Women's History in Washington D.C. Women's History Month provides awareness about the achievements of womankind and the progress the gender has made.
