Fab Fashion Events!
Chicago has some great fashion events coming up. Check these out and plan your schedule!
Fabric, Fashion, and Design

Join us for a one hour inspiring conversation with 3 fashion design community individuals!
Our expert panel will cover the questions of general fabric options in the area, wholesale selling process and design & documentation. The attendees will be provided with the information they need to make informed choices about the way they access fashion. The discussion will feature contributions from Chicago-based professionals from a range of specialty areas. This event will feature:
Ann Chikahisa, a true sales professional, has over 18 years of sales experience. She has excelled in both retail/wholesale sales in the fashion industry. Her authentic style of selling is the key to her success. She graduated from USC, with a degree in Communications. She has worked for Chan Luu inc, Mark Eisen and Leon Max. Currently, Ann designs and produces a jewelry line that she retails/wholesales across the US/Canada.
Dana Killion is an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in apparel design, technical design, and manufacturing. Her professional experiences include managing technical design departments at Spiegel, Lands' End, HSN, and Lane Bryant. And more factory trips through Asia than she can count. In 2009 she ventured into a long held dream of designing her own label. Killion, a women's contemporary line, is sold in the Killion store in Lincoln Park, artisan markets, online, and in select boutiques.
Jay Arbetman started off unloading trucks and picking order at the family coat company as a teenager. By the age of 21, Jay was on the road selling women's outerwear and assisting in the merchandising of a 100 piece coat and jacket line. All in all, Jay as been a sales representative, sales manager, fashion buyer, New York showroom manager, piece goods buyer and president of Misty Harbor, Global Clothing Industries and outerwear giant Arbetman Brothers and Blair. 10 years in New York and five years of night school at FIT rounded out an education and career that has spanned over 40 years. Today, Jay is co-owner of Chicago Wholesale Fabrics.
